Why did you decide to start Austin Angels?

I decided to follow my hearts desire to bring change. For the 1st time, I feel like I am doing exactly what God intended me to do with my life. Everyday I wake up and get to live my personal legend; helping people and doing what I love…I know I’m blessed b/c not many people can say that. Austin Angels started as a New Years Resolution to give back to the community and within months we went from a small group of 30 to an astonishing 500 volunteers.

What is your favorite charity (besides Austin Angels of course!)?

It’s hard for me to say just one so I will give you my top 3. I admire and hope one day that our non-profit has the means to help people in the way that Charity: Water (www.charitywater.org) and invisible children (www.invisiblechildren.com) have done. These two organizations have really incredible volunteers with HUGE dreams to change the world and I hope we are lucky enough to continue to grow and help change the lives not only on a community level but also a global level.

My other favorite organization is Help end local poverty (www.helpendlocalpoverty.com) I was lucky enough to sit down with the man who started this organization and I believed that I was sitting in front of a true living angel. Chris and Necole (his wife..who also volunteers with us) are 2 of the most amazing people I have ever met.

What are you most grateful for?
My Family, Health, and my boyfriend Chris - who pushes me to be all that I can be!

If you had one wish for the world what would it be?
To end Human Misery.

If you had any “special power” what would it be??
The power to heal!

What is your goal for Austin Angels?
That by December 2011 we have 10,000 Angels (active volunteers) that come together every month to do service projects in/around Austin.

Get ready to meet the most incredible group of people you will ever have the pleasure of knowing. Our volunteers are so enthustic and excited about life. We welcome ALL people of all types so come and join the fun. It’s the best organization you will ever be apart of!!!
