Anyone can become an angel, no matter what walk of life you come from. The only requirement to become an angel is that you have a generous heart and a willingness to help others in need.

Austin Angels started as a New Years Resolution to give back to the community and within months we went from a small group of 30 to an astonishing 500 volunteers.

I get goose bumps just thinking about the fact that it only takes small acts of kindness to restore hope in those who need it most, and give them the strength to push on through whatever hardships they are facing at that time.  That is one of our main goals as Austin Angels…to restore HOPE!

Knowing that I'm apart of an organization that gives a child a new bed to sleep on, gives a homeless man living on the street a toothbrush and toothpaste, or just to provide hope and love to children that come from an abused family life is all you need to get me to do to continue to be an Austin Angel.

For the past few years I have had a strong desire gnawing at my gut to find a volunteer group to serve in, but could never find my place.  With Austin Angels, I have a peace that I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be.  I feel I can best use my talents with this group to serve our community.
